Rules of blackjack

Blackjack - the most popular and the easiest card game ever. But how to play it? Here we will introduce you with the rules of blackjack.
Many think that the main principal of the game is to reach 21- but it is wrong! The main idea is to beat the dealer! That is how you win in blackjack. Blackjack is the only game where dealer is the last to take cards.
So the rules of blackjack are pretty simple: there are several players, usually from five to nine, and the dealer at the blackjack table. Each player makes his (her) bet. After that dealer gives two cards to each player and himself the game is to begin. No more bets can be made till the next game. All cards are faced up, except one of the dealer’s cards.

Cards value

Learn Blackjack! First of all let’s talk about cards and their values.

  1. Cards from 1 to 10 - their values are the same as their numbers - from 1 to 10.
  2. The face cards or the picture cards (king, queen and jack) counts as 10.
  3. Aces - is a special cards in Blackjack. They can be counted as 1 or 10, depending on how many points the player or the dealer needs not to exceed 21 points.
  4. The card suits don’t matter in this game.

Terms of the game

This game has several options, from which you can choose, so you have some place for a maneuver and tactics:
Hit- it means that the player wants to take one more card! The player can hit till exceeding 21 points.
Stand - this means that the player does not want or need any more cards.
Split - this one is tricky! If the player has a pair of two same numbered or same faced cards then this pair can be splitted. If the player wants to split the pair of cards he/she needs to put an additional bet on the second hand, and the bet must be the same as the original first bet in the game.
Bust - If the value of your cards is more than 21 - you lose. All your bets go to the casino.
Surrender - Player can give up before the game ends, and receive a half of the bet back, but it can be done only after player receives first two cards, and only on condition that the dealer hasn’t a blackjack combination.

And the dealer says “BLACKJACK!”

Blackjack is not just a name of the game. It is as well a card combination! This combination consists of Ace and any face card. If the player has this combination - he/she wins, unless the dealer has the same combination. If the dealer has a blackjack as well as one of the players - it is a draw: all bets are returned to the players. The combinations of cards in blackjack are called blackjack hands.
Those are basic rules of blackjack which you need to know to play and win in blackjack. They are the same for real casinos and for the casinos online.
